My website downloads the index file instead of opening my content
This happens when the .htaccess file for your website contains an invalid AddHandler line.
To resolve the problem, locate the .htaccess file for your website, open the file for editing, locate the line or lines starting with AddHandler, delete them and save the changes. After that clear your browser cache and open your website again.
